Remember this sweet little shelf I scored last spring for free?
I loved the color, but it needed a face lift before it was ready for it's future home in the guest croffice (which at the time was my current bedroom). It was a pretty quick fix - I cut off the bottom shelf, where it was rotted, then gave it a coat of grey paint (scored from the cheap-paint shelf at the local hardware):
And then it sat forlornly waiting to get hung on the wall. It waited, and waited, and waited. Through the late fall, through the winter; through our new favorite temporary roommate and new friend, who lived in the guest croffice while she took a course at Yestermorrow. First in the back room, then in the closet corner of the guest croffice,
Last weekend, with the help of a friend, I got around to hanging it up. The pegboard backing was a huge help, as we were able to screw through the existing holes, right into the studs.
Finally, a home for the knick-knacks and treasures that I can't seem to let go of.
This process is so close to my heart...Thank you, Meg, for expressing my thoughts so graciously! I totally love this shelf; I feel I know it so well... xox
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love the grey color, and it looks perfect in that spot. How good does it feel to finally finish a project that's been on your mind for ages??
