ONE YEAR!

So technically the official year-iversary isn't until mid-October (when the paperwork FINALLY went through and I actually owned the place), but it's been one year of living here. It seems kind of crazy, and I still can't always believe myself when I tell someone I own my own home (who does that??), but it's exciting to know I've made it this far, and when I look at the mortgage bill every month the balance seems to be a little bit less.
then. . .
and now!
There are times I barely feel settled, and other times I think how far I've come (hello, former kitchen). I know I have a laundry list of things I want (and need) to do, and I'm slowly crossing things off. Sometimes by myself, sometimes with some help. I may not love the ugly brown carpeting, the weird ceiling in the guest (now sisters!) room creeps me out a bit, I wish I had more double-hung windows instead of casements that may not open (or close), and I'm still sure exactly which breaker switch goes to which circuit, but when it comes down to it, I mostly love coming home to a home that is mine - warts and all.

If you've missed any of the house updates from this past year, check out the "house!" tag under the contents on the right, or peruse back through the 2013 and 2014 posts!
